Why the World Lacks Real PeaceOf humans Jeremiah 10:23 says: "O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps." Humans were not created to rule or govern without God's help. Humans who do not seek God's guidance will never attain lasting peace. Although some governments would like you to believe that they follow God's Laws, their records belie their claims. The second reason for the lack of world peace is found at 1 John 5:19. The apostle John said: "The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." This corrupt world is ruled by the invisible spirit known as Satan. All man's efforts to gain peace will always be frustrated by the actions of that very real demonic force and his followers here on earth. In all walks of life, in rich and poor nations, family problems, crime, racial and national strife, tribal and ethnic hatreds, oppression, injustice, sickness, and other unfortunate circumstances, rob people of their peace of mind. The only true hope for real peace is God's Kingdom in the hands of Christ Jesus. While on earth he demonstrated on a small scale what he is capable of doing. He fed the poor, healed the sick and brought the dead back to life. He will do all these and much more on a far grander scale when Satan and his evil empire are removed and God's Kingdom is in full control.  |
