SERVANTS OF GOD
NOAH
Noah is the son of Lamech and tenth in line from Adam. When Noah was named by his father, the following was said of him: "He will bring us relief from the painful labor of farming this ground that the LORD has cursed." - Genesis 5:29.
During Noah's lifetime, deviant angels left their proper place in heaven, came to earth and took wives for themselves. The offsprings of these marriages were bigger and stronger than their peers. These bullies caused much violence on the face of the earth. Amidst all the chaos and corruption, "Noah was a righteous man. He proved himself faultless among his contemporaries. Noah walked with the [true] God." - Gen 6:9
God promised Noah and his family that he would put an end to the violence. Noah was commanded to build an ark for his family and anyone who would heed the warning of an impending flood. No one listened to Noah and his family. But of Noah it was said: And Noah proceeded to do according to all that God had commanded him. He did just so. - Genesis 6:22
For his obedience and trust in God Noah and his family survived that deluge.
MOSES
The name Moses means "drawn out" and is related to the fact that he was taken out of a river in a basket. Moses was a leader, mediator, prophet and a writer.
The following scriptures tell a lot about the man Moses and his relationship with God.
And the man Moses was by far the meekest of all the men who were upon the surface of the ground. - Numbers 12:3
By faith Moses, when grown up, refused to be called the son of the daughter of Pharaoh, choosing to be ill-treated with the people of God rather than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin, because he esteemed the reproach of the Christ as riches greater than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked intently toward the payment of the reward. - Hebrews 11:24-26
There has never been another prophet like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face. The LORD sent Moses to perform all the miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and his entire land. And it was through Moses that the LORD demonstrated his mighty power and terrifying acts in the sight of all Israel. - Deuteronomy 34:10-12
